A new scientific paper has been published by the Applied Geology working group. The authors are Laura and Peter, in collaboration with Christian Griebler (University of Vienna) and Martina Herrmann (Friedrich Schiller University of Jena).
The study examines how urban influences and geological diversity affect the groundwater fauna. The analysis is based on samples from 91 groundwater monitoring wells in Halle (Saale) and the surrounding. Between 2022 and 2023, samples of the groundwater fauna and environmental parameters were collected regularly over the course of a year. The study makes an important contribution to our understanding of groundwater ecosystems in urban areas.
