On 19 May 2025, two employees in the DiP-SMART Agroforst project, Jonathan Renkel and Jan Lukas Wenzel, took part in a spontaneous planting campaign for an agroforestry system from Lignovis.
Three strips of woodland, each with five rows of trees and different varieties of poplar, were planted on an area near Bernburg that is prone to waterlogging to provide wind protection and regulate the soil water balance. The technical aspects and the reasons behind the planting are very interesting for the DiP-SMART Agroforestry project and we would like to thank the company Lignovis for the spontaneous invitation and the farmer for the opportunity to attend the planting.
