From 23 to 28 June 2025, a networking trip took place in Germany with a delegation from Turkmenistan as part of the “EU for Green Turkmenistan” project. The delegation included representatives from the Turkmen Ministry of Energy, the Turkmen Ministry of Education, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the MLU representation in Kazakhstan (Central Asia Sustainable Innovation Bureau – CASIB).
In addition to identifying common interests and political priorities, the delegation and its cooperation partners also discussed concrete steps for implementing joint initiatives. A practical and direct exchange took place with project partners from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Clausthal University of Technology and Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, during which the implementation of a cooperation agreement, memorandum of understanding, as well as topics and formats were successfully prepared.
The networking trip was an important step towards strengthening the transfer of knowledge from policy to research practice between the European Union and Turkmenistan.
MLU is looking forward to further strengthening the international dialogue in science and education through these partnerships.
