He was a DAAD doctoral student at Hawassa University, Institute of Technology, Ethiopia. He obtained his M.Sc. in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering from Haromaya University, Ethiopia. His research interest includes spatial/temporal modelling of soil erosion and sediment analysis, land use change modelling, soil suitability study, watershed management and impact assessment.
