Mit dem Bau des Brenner-Basis-Tunnels (BBT) ergibt sich die einmalige Möglichkeit die tektonische Entwicklung dieses Teils der Ostalpen entlang der BBT Transects neu zu bearbeiten.
Durch die Proben der assoziierten Erkundungsbohrungen können wir die vorliegenden Gesteine und ihre Eigenschaften direkt mit den seimischen Informationen nahegelegener Profile verbinden. In Kooperation mit dem Leibniz-Institut für Geophysik Hannover und der Universität Hannover werden neue tektonische Profile in 2D und 3D erstellt. Das Projekt ist Teil des SSP 4DMountainbuilding.
