Research

Frederieke Westerheide is a doctoral student researching the governance of urban drug cultures from an urban geography perspective. She is a scholarship holder of the Saxony-Anhalt Graduate Programme at MLU Halle-Wittenberg.

Biography

Scholarship holder of the Saxony-Anhalt State Graduate Funding Programme since 2022.

2019-2021 Research assistant at the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg. Working group Cultural/Political/Digital Geographies.

2019-2022 Project Member in the HERA research project “Governing the Narcotic City. Imaginaries, Practices and Discourses of Public Drug Cultures in European Cities from 1970 until Today” (GONACI).

2015-2019 Master’s programme at the Center for Metropolitan Studies at TU Berlin (Historical Urban Studies).

2011-2015 Bachelor studies at the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg (Cultural Geography, English and American Studies, Sociology).

Focus on urban research as well as excursions and applied methods seminars. No regular courses.
