Post: Award : 25th Young Scientists’ Conference at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences

At the 25th Young Scientists’ Conference(NWK25) at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences, our doctoral student Lena Büschel was awarded 2nd prize in the best poster category. Her contribution was entitled: “Long-term effects of field margins on the landscape structure in southern Saxony-Anhalt”.

The NWK25 took place on 19 and 20 June 2025 and brought together young researchers from 20 universities and six federal states. A total of 22 posters were presented, from which the best contributions were honoured.

A detailed newspaper article was also published about Lena Büschel’s research work and the importance of field margins for climate-resilient agricultural ecosystems. It emphasises both her innovative methodology – the use of drones and laser technology to record field margins – and the relevance of her research for biodiversity and climate protection. The article also highlights the importance of scientific exchange at the NWK and emphasises Lena Büschel’s success in the poster competition.
