In a keynote presentation titled “Construction and Monitoring of Large-scale Seasonal Energy Storage Facilities”, Peter presented current work on large-scale seasonal thermal energy storage systems. The focus was on subsurface storage solutions as well as results from the EU project INTERSTORES, including a demonstration site in Germany using fibre-optic temperature monitoring to analyse thermal processes.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity for international and interdisciplinary exchange, as well as valuable insights into current developments in geo-monitoring. Overall, the inspiring atmosphere of the event created an ideal setting for engaging and fruitful discussions.
