This year, World Water Day is taking a closer look at groundwater with the motto “Making the invisible visible”.
We are delighted that this year’s United Nations (UN) World Water Day is focussing on one of our working group’s main areas of research – groundwater. This supports the relevance of and attention for this resource, which is worth protecting, even though it lies hidden beneath the earth’s surface. Following World Water Day, the 28th conference of the FH-DGGV will take place from 23-25 March 2022 with the theme “Groundwater – Climate – Society”, at which some of our colleagues will also be presenting papers.
WHAT IS WORLD WATER DAY
“World Water Day takes place every year on 22 March. It has been celebrated annually by the United Nations since 1993 to celebrate water and raise awareness of the 2 billion people who currently live without access to clean water.”
