As part of the INTERSTORES project, Applied Geology is supporting the filling of the WGTES reservoir by installing temperature sensors in the form of fiber optic cables. Construction work on the WGTES storage facility (seasonal gravel-water temperature storage facility) at the Ingolstadt site as part of the INTERSTORES project began in September last year and the storage facility has been filled with gravel, sand and crushed stone since April this year. At the same time, the installation of the storage tank monitoring system using fiber optics (DTS) began. These are laid level by level to measure the temperatures in the reservoir.
