Department Geodynamics

We are concerned with the endogenous and exogenous dynamics of lithospheric plates and the associated relationships between space, time and processes on all scales, large and small. We use a variety of methods, e.g. field work, thin section microscopy, age dating, sediment, texture and microstructure analyses.

We combine knowledge and methods from the fields of structural geology, sedimentology, regional geology, rheology, petrophysics, geochronology and metamorphic & magmatic petrology.
