Increasing periods of drought and flooding are leading to significant fluctuations in groundwater levels and contributing to land subsidence and damage to buildings, particularly historic monuments in central Germany. My research investigates the underlying processes in order to develop sustainable protective measures.

Focus Areas:

Soil settlement, climate resilience, stability of monuments
