Kick-off for the Open Academy: DIP projects start at Dinner4Zero and Spring School 2025

Post: Project : Kick-off for the Open Academy: DIP projects start at Dinner4Zero and Spring School 2025

On 16 April 2025, stakeholders from science, civil society and practice came together in a relaxed atmosphere on the Make Science Halle citizen science ship to discuss sustainable ideas for the future, regional challenges and interdisciplinary solutions with selected projects.

For the two projects DIP Smart Agroforst and DIP Fairesyst, the Dinner4Zero was the prelude to their participation in the Open Academy 2025 – an initiative for science communication and structural change in the Central German mining region.

The Open Academy, organised by the ScienceCube – Competence Centre for Science Communication and Transformation, aims to make research visible and actively involve people in social change processes. For our projects, the Dinner4Zero was the starting signal for a series of events within the Open Academy, as the Spring School at the Salinemuseum Halle will start directly after the dinner from 24-27 April 2025: a four-day, interdisciplinary format with impulses, teamwork and creative idea development around science communication. Our project tandem will then be able to present the formats they have developed at the Siedesalz Festival Science Slam on 1 November 2025 as the grand finale.

As one of ten research projects, we are delighted to be part of this exciting journey – towards new formats, creative alliances and more visibility for research in structural change.
