Forschung

Ma. Simeona Martinez untersucht die Territorialisierung von Ressourcen in Wassereinzugsgebieten im Kontext der grünen Energiewende“, die von der philippinischen Regierung in der Verwaltungsregion Cordillera auf den Philippinen aktiv vorangetrieben wird. Ihre Arbeit zielt darauf ab, die sozialen Formationen und räumlichen Beziehungen zu untersuchen, die mit dem Ausbau von Wasserkraft in einem Wassereinzugsgebiet in der Provinz Kalinga einhergehen. Dies geschieht unter der Betreuung von Prof. Boris Michel und in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Center for Development Programs in the Cordillera (CDPC). Neben ihrem Promotionsprojekt engagiert sie sich als Fakultätsmitglied des Fachbereichs Geografie am Diliman-Campus der University of the Philippines in verschiedenen Forschungs- und Beratungsaktivitäten. Dabei spezialisiert sie sich auf den Einsatz partizipativer Kartierung, geografischer Informationssysteme (GIS), Fernerkundung und georäumlicher Technologien für eine gemeinschaftsorientierte Ressourcenverwaltung und ein gemeindebasiertes Katastrophenrisikomanagement.
