TG/DSC: Netzsch thermal analysis (DSC/TG with IR/MS coupling)

‍The ‍Thermobalance ‍STA ‍449 ‍F3 ‍Jupiter® ‍der ‍Company ‍Netzsch ‍is ‍with ‍zwei ‍Öfen ‍auf ‍der ‍Doppelhubvorrichtung ‍ausgestattet. ‍Thermal ‍analyses ‍can be carried out ‍from ‍room temperature ‍to ‍1500 ‍°C ‍. ‍The ‍connection ‍of ‍protective ‍and ‍purge gases ‍can ‍be used ‍at ‍Ofenraum ‍definierte ‍Atmosphären ‍realisieren ‍(shielding gas, ‍synthetische ‍Luft). ‍According to ‍questions ‍samples ‍can be ‍analysed under ‍oxidising ‍and ‍reducing ‍ ‍werden. ‍The ‍direct ‍couplings ‍der ‍thermobalance ‍with ‍a ‍FT-IR unit ‍der ‍company ‍Bruker ‍Optics ‍und ‍einem ‍Massenspektrometer ‍(also ‍Netzsch) ‍erlaubt ‍zudem ‍Aussagen ‍über ‍die ‍freigesetzten ‍Gase ‍sowie ‍die ‍gasförmigen ‍Zersetzungsprodukte. ‍With ‍the ‍FT ‍- ‍IR ‍- ‍Analysis Unit ‍let ‍you ‍in ‍Standalone ‍- ‍operation ‍ergänzend ‍kondensierte ‍Substanzen ‍schwingungsspektroskopisch ‍charakterisieren. ‍According to ‍operating mode ‍the following ‍spectral ranges ‍can ‍be measured:‍

  • only ‍FT-IR: ‍8000 ‍cm-1 ‍to ‍340 ‍cm-1
  • with ‍coupling: ‍4400 ‍cm-1 ‍to ‍400 ‍cm-1

The choice of furnace and crucible material (corundum/platinum) depends on the question of the thermal analysis. The analysis spectrum of the thermobalance is summarised below:

  • Melting/crystallisation behaviour
  • Solid state transitions
  • Polymorphic transformations
  • Degree of crystallinity, glass transitions
  • Crosslinking reactions
  • Oxidation stability
  • Purity determination
  • Specific heat, thermokinetics

The choice of furnace and crucible material (corundum/platinum) depends on the question of the thermal analysis. The analysis spectrum of the thermobalance is summarised below:

  • Mass changes
  • Temperature resistance
  • Oxidation/reduction behaviour
  • decomposition
  • corrosion
  • Analysis of the composition
  • (FT-IR/MS coupling)
  • Thermokinetics
